Animation Pose Ratio

Animation posture ratio

The animation posture ratio is a ratio that specifies whether the restoration destination is the initial posture or the current animation posture for some constraints.

There are three constraints that affect it:

These three constraints restore the position and angle to the original pose.
You can specify whether the restoration destination is the initial posture or the animation posture.
It is also possible to blend with the slider.

If the value is 0.0, the initial posture will be used as the restore destination.
If the value is 1.0, the current animation posture will be used as the restore destination.

However, for backstops, the animated posture is always used.
So backstops are not affected by Animation Pose Ratio.

initial posture

The initial pose is the character’s pose when the MagicaCloth component is created.
This initial posture is recorded internally.

animation posture

Animation posture is the posture of Transform and Mesh when MagicaCloth is not used.
Animated poses are explained in detail on the Custom Skinning page.

Setting guidelines

Basically, it is fine to leave it at 0.0.
This is because the movement of the cloth is more stable in most cases.

However, if the animation posture is greatly deformed, it may be more stable to increase the ratio.
Also, if the animation pose is completely controlled by the artist, higher values are more stable.
In that case, try adjusting from a setting of about 0.5 while watching the movement.
